Traveling with children can be quite a challenge. The young ones tend to get bored very easily and as a parent you probably know that a bored child is a cranky child. This is why it’s important to choose a vacation destination that will appeal to young and old or you might feel you need another vacation just to recover from your trip.

See Real Mummies
When kids hear that they’re going to the museum, they’re seldom very excited about the prospect. However, tell them that you’re going to see real mummies and you’ll have to hold them back. The Egyptian Antiquities Museum at Tahrir Square in Cairo is a museum that children will really enjoy- in fact, it is the largest museum in Egypt! There are exhibits on the pharaohs, the treasures of King Tut, the Greek and Roman periods, papyrus and hieroglyphs and many more. The highlight for the young ones will undoubtedly be the royal mummies.

Ride a Camel
Since ancient times, the ships of the desert were the transport mode of choice for travelers in Egypt. You’re spoilt for choice when it comes to places where the entire family can enjoy camel rides. However, it’s a great idea to combine this activity with a visit to the Pyramids and Giza and the Sphinx. In this way your children can see the only of the original Seven Wonders of the World that still exists; history will come alive for them and they’ll have a fun, unforgettable experience too.

Sail along the Nile River
Egypt’s life blood is the waters of the River Nile and Nile cruises are very popular with tourists. However, instead of taking a cruise in a modern boat that’s really just a floating hotel, opt for a felucca. This is a traditional Egyptian sailboat and it’s the perfect way to travel. The kids will love sleeping underneath the stars as if they’re pirates from ancient times and they’ll have many opportunities to swim, catch some fish, and maybe even spot a Nile crocodile.
Go to the beach
Sharm el-Sheikh on the Red Sea is Egypt’s most popular beach resort and the perfect destination any time of year. From here you can also take short desert safaris in the land where Moses and the Israelites once travelled: another way to make history come alive for the kids.

An Egypt vacation is very child-friendly, and traveling with children is incredibly easy here. You will definitely have a grand time with your loved ones while here because of the fun-filled and exciting activities that you can enjoy while her. However, be sure to take care in the sun and to drink plenty of liquids. After all, remaining healthy during your vacation is the best way to remain happy too.
