I absolutely love the Olympics- everything from the journey of the torch, to the teams parading in at opening ceremonies, through all of the many events, and finally to the closing ceremonies. I love learning the bios of the athletes, I love cheering for the underdogs, and I love the international camaraderie and sportsmanship.
I think my kids are old enough to weave in a little learning into the games: Teachers and parents looking for creative and fun ideas will be amazed at all of these Olympic-themed activities for kids. Keep checking back to see what our amazing readers have posted!

Oh how cool!!!! That looks like it must have taken her so much time, effort, and research- what a cool project. I wonder if she could use it during the next summer Olympics as a learning tool with younger kids? If she makes a similar one for the winter Olympics, I would love to feature it here! Amazing!
Dorota says
Oh yes! It took a lot of time and research, but she has enjoyed it a lot and has learned a lot.
Will let you know about the Winter Olympics project 🙂

I would like to hear more about Norwegian life. Scandanavian countries like Norway just celebrated Midsummer, St. John’s Day or St. Han’s Day. Could you add that celebration? Also, May 17th, which is Norway’s Constitution Day. They celebrate with a children’s march through the streets of Oslo to the Palace. I just want to know and celebrate Norway’s holidays with kids. Tusen Takk!
