We travel, and we travel a lot. I have been searching for the best travel stroller since my oldest child was a baby- but every stroller we tried was either too cumbersome, too short, or too large. So even though we travel as light as possible, with 2 adults, 5 kids and all of our suitcases and backpacks: there are times we simply can’t fit a stroller and we end up regretting it as our arms ache from carrying our youngest (he is a BIG 2 year old!).
I was asked to take a look at the gb Pockit stroller- an ultra compact stroller made for frequent travelers that folds up to the size of a large handbag. At first I was dubious. Would the light weight compromise the quality? Would it be so small that I’d have to bend over while pushing (my ultimate pet peeve with umber strollers!). I was thoroughly surprised that not only was the quality great, the seat comfortable, and the stroller easy to maneuver—- the handles are adjustable for height! At 5’7″ I am able to pull up the handles to a reasonable height so I can take a relaxing stroll without being hunched over (like every other travel and light weight stroller on the market). It would be ideal for kids 6 months and older, and easily carries kids up to 50 pounds (!).
My 2 year old is a solid little guy, and super tall- but you can see from the pictures that there is plenty of head room for him to grow into this. I love the harness to keep in place at crowded airports, and I love the swivel wheels to help me weave in and out of the masses of travelers- and it FITS under the seat in front of you in airplane and in the overhead bin! Even when we’re not traveling, the gb Pockit stroller fits so well in my car- I fold it up and place it under his feet in the backseat to use around town. It is so tiny and lightweight when folded up, my big 2 year old can actually pick it up and carry it (asking me “ride in the stroller?”).
Here’s a quick video showing how easy it is to unfold and use this compact stroller:
I cannot believe how well-designed this stroller is! It really is the best travel stroller I’ve ever used. What’s your favorite tip for traveling with toddlers? Leave the best travel gear in the comments!
