Oooh, if your husband already knows a lot about the trees, that’s half work:). Being from the north, I do not even know the basic trees here in Texas. Everyone was trying to convince me that this one tree that is EVERYWHERE is a live oak. But the leaf wasn’t the “oak” tree I was used to. I finally found some good guide books, and also asked a friend from here to show me the most common. I bet yours would be so cool if your husband could help share the “secrets” of identifying them with your girls- if you write a post on it, send me the link so I can share!!!! 🙂

My husband is a tree fanatic (if there is such a thing) and the girls and I have been working on learning our trees together. We will need to start our own tree guide.

We’ve been planning to take leaf samples and make rubbings in clay (and cut to shape) for a mobile.
