I love find a gift for teachers that they can actually use AND is made by my kids. I am always looking for opportunities for my kids to show kindness and compassion to others. We have been extraordinarily lucky with the teachers at my children’s school- they truly love my kids, and their enthusiasm for learning has ignited their curiosity and motivation. My children frequently write thank you notes to their teachers to show their love and appreciation, and this time we will make a gift for teachers- adorable magnets the kids have created! I love these, and I think I might have the kids make some more for our relatives this Christmas.
First, get the Sharpies! We also got “business card magnets.” They come in all shapes and sizes, and the Sharpies work really well on the shiny surface without smearing (beware- kid markers do smear!!! Sharpies are the only we’ve found that will really stay in your design).
The kids tried to remember what colors their teachers had used in their classroom, and drew colorful borders around each magnet leaving a space in the middle. We are leaving a space in the middle AND gifting a sharpie so that teachers can create labels on the magnet that will organize their classroom in no time! In our school, we have white boards at the front of every class, and these are magnetic. It’s perfect to organize papers and decorate the board.
Such an easy way to make a thoughtful gift for teachers and show our appreciation! I love when the kids are in charge and can completely do the craft themselves- and in this case it really could work for any age students to make for their teachers.
Super easy, only 2 supplies, and completely homemade- great welcome gift for new teachers to help with classroom organization.

What a great idea for teachers! I’ll bet they will be surprised to get gifts at the beginning of the year. Kids can get really creative and personalize it . How thoughtful!
