I’ve recently discovered Betty Misheiker’s collection of childrens stories set in the African Forest. Chubby Roars the Loudest Roar is her first in the series. Some of her other stories are also in Afrikaans which is amazing!

I live in Italy and I usually order books on Amazon but these ones I can’t find.

We recently visited South Africa for the first time last year. Absolutely beautiful country and amazing wildlife. We can’t wait to go back.

Thanks so much for this wonderful list! My husband went to South Africa for work several years ago and came back raving about it–so on his next trip, in a few months, we’re all tagging along, and I’m eager to do a lot of South Africa reading with the children before we go!
