I am hunting for these kind of list for a long time and you have truly found some great movies. Here are two recommendations that me and my daughter liked very much.

“The Gods Must Be Crazy” is a South African movie where Bushmen meet the “civilized” world. The movie has everything from fun to drama to adventure, but the best part is the real Bushmen. It’s impossible not to love them.

“Minuscule: Valley of the Lost Ants” is a French movie with real nature and animated (really cute) insects. My daughter loved that movie. It’s fun an does not need any translation. A second part was just release and we are looking forward watching it soon.

Two Mongolian children find a ping pong ball floating in a stream. No one is able to tell them what it is (grandmother says magic pearl) and they spend the rest of the movie trying to find out. Endlessly inventive. (Available on Kanopy)

Six bears and a clown (Czechoslovakia 1972) great kids’ comedy if you can find it.

Iran has a wealth of films about children — I will have to leave those to another time.
