Becky Morales is the creator of Kid World Citizen, offering activities that help young minds go global. Her work has been featured on Scholastic, the U.S. Department of Education, NBC Latino, MSN, PBSKids, Start Empathy and many more. She is a teacher, teacher-trainer, speaker, educational consultant, and author of “The Global Education Toolkit for Elementary Learners” (Corwin, 2014).
Becky holds a BA in Spanish Education, an MA in Teaching ESL, with a concentration in Cross-Cultural Communication, and an MA in School Counseling with a focus on immigrants in schools. She has been teaching ESL since 1994, in volunteer programs, at the high school level, in community colleges, and university intensive English programs. She won the John W. Price International Understanding Award at the University of Illinois for her work with international students on campus.
Her broad and diverse international experience includes working with Fulbright students, directing school International Clubs, leading a Costa Rican Exchange program, hosting exchange students and teachers, and teaching and training teachers at numerous schools in the US and the UK. She has also presented and led workshops at national conferences such as NAEYC, National Conference for Geographic Education, and the Asia Society’s Partnership for Global Learning.
Becky is passionate about global education, geo-literacy, service learning, educational technology connecting students to the world, and cultural exchange. She loves connecting with like-minded educators, institutions, and parents.
